1. who we are

cognoscene (“cognoscene”, “we”, “us”) is the project name under which we operate the cognoscene browser extension from singapore. we are not a registered legal entity at the time of this page; the operators of cognoscene act as the data controller for personal data described here. if we later incorporate or register a legal entity, we will update this policy and notify users where required.

when you join the waitlist, we may collect:

why: to manage founding beta batches, contact you about install access, provide support, and use optional survey responses for waitlist and product research. survey responses are optional and are not used to determine beta eligibility.

legal basis: your consent when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in running a controlled beta.

4. waitlist processors

we do not sell your waitlist data.

5. extension data (after you install)

if you install the beta extension, additional data may be processed on your device and, if you sign in and enable sync, on our backend:

backend sync (when enabled) may use supabase. data may be stored on servers outside singapore. we use service providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

we do not use cognoscene to diagnose, treat, or monitor mental health conditions, and we do not design the product as clinical or compulsive-shopping treatment.

we use reputable hosting and payment providers and limit access to personal data. no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. children

cognoscene is intended for users aged 18 and above. we do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. contact us if you believe a child has submitted data.

10. changes

we may update this policy. the “last updated” date will change. material changes may be noted on the waitlist site or by email where appropriate.
