1. the service

cognoscene is a chrome browser extension designed to add friction before checkout on shopping websites you choose to track. it includes features such as checkout holds, browse-time prompts, and (for premium users) expanded tracking and dashboard views.

the product is in founding beta. features, timing, supported sites, and pricing may change. we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

cognoscene is a consumer productivity tool. it is not financial advice, investment advice, credit counselling, therapy, or medical treatment. it is not intended to diagnose or treat compulsive buying or any mental health condition. you remain responsible for your purchasing decisions and finances.

the service is provided “as is” and “as available” during beta. to the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

checkout detection depends on third-party websites that change without notice. a hold may fail to trigger or may trigger incorrectly. you should verify orders and payments independently.

7. limitation of liability

to the fullest extent permitted by singapore law, cognoscene and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, or missed purchases arising from use of the service.

our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or (b) singapore dollars fifty (s$50), except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

8. termination

you may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the extension and withdrawing from communications. we may suspend or terminate beta access for breach of these terms, abuse, or operational reasons. sections that by nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

9. founding purchases

paid founding access is subject to the separate founding offer terms, which are incorporated by reference.

our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data.

11. governing law

these terms are governed by the laws of the republic of singapore. courts of singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
